ABSTRACT This article presents a survey on null generic impersonal structures conducted with native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese (BP). The objective the was (i) to investigate whether constructions reading need have elements such as fronted adverbials check EPP, hypothesis put forward by Holmberg (2005, 2010a,b); (ii) verify what extent BP-speakers require an overt marker genericity (e.g., clitic se and necessity deontic modals) in sentences pronouns, suggested Bertolino (2017). consisted Acceptability Judgment Test, online. All were presented context favoring subject. results this show that EPP does not be satisfied BP; although prefer markers genericity, they do it.
